A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam email messages, but this issue can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a cloud hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few features, but it is stunningly user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just a click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the specific email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and requires one more click on the same button.
